Jede dieser war schon einmal Sitz des marokkanischen K\u00f6nigshauses. Im sp\u00e4ten 17. Jahrhundert kam Meknes unter dem Alawidensultan Mulai Ismail zu dieser Ehre.  Nicht wenige behaupten, dass der Souk von Meknes der sch\u00f6nste in Marokko ist. Und weit weniger touristisch als z. B. Marrakesch.
